Ember co-founder Jason Binder is presenting at ASCO 2026

Research Jason began before founding Ember has been accepted for a rapid oral presentation at this year's meeting.

  • Ember co-founder Jason Binder will give a rapid oral presentation at the 2026 ASCO Annual Meeting.
  • His research looks at how patients and caregivers use a digital tool for glioblastoma between scheduled clinic visits.

We're proud to share that our co-founder, Jason Binder, will present research at the 2026 American Society of Clinical Oncology (ASCO) Annual Meeting, held May 29 to June 2 in Chicago. Jason began this work before Ember was founded, and he presents it as an independent investigator, not on Ember's behalf. His abstract, "Use of a patient-facing digital tool for glioblastoma outside scheduled clinic visits," was accepted for a rapid oral presentation.

The research looks at what a glioblastoma diagnosis asks of patients and caregivers between appointments, and how they use a patient-facing digital tool in those moments. During the study period, families and caregivers exchanged more than 15,000 messages across 1,661 conversations from 54 countries, most often outside clinic hours and most often about scan questions, treatment decisions, symptoms and side effects, and caregiver concerns. Among people who used the built-in trial finder, 92 percent said they were interested in what it surfaced, and voluntary feedback put the net promoter score at 80.

"Most of what a glioblastoma diagnosis asks of a family happens between appointments. This is the first time we get to show the oncology community how people actually use a tool like this in those moments."

— Jason Binder, co-founder of Ember and the study's presenting author

The rapid oral presentation is scheduled for May 29, 2026, at 2:51 p.m. CDT (Abstract 1514), presented by Jason Binder. If you'll be at ASCO, we'd be glad to meet — email jason@emberhealth.ai or angeline@emberhealth.ai to set up a time. The abstract is available on the ASCO website.

Ember launches AI companion for brain tumor patients and families

Free tool debuts during Brain Tumor Awareness Month.

Ember today launched Ember Companion, a free AI tool for patients and families navigating brain tumor diagnoses. The launch is timed to Brain Tumor Awareness Month, which is recognized every May. Ember Companion is one of the first AI products built specifically for the day-to-day experience of a serious diagnosis, and it is designed to support, not replace, the clinical care patients already receive.

Ember Companion is built for the realities of brain tumor diagnoses, including glioblastoma (GBM). It helps patients and caregivers organize information, make sense of medical language, prepare for appointments, and think through decisions. The product is free for patients and caregivers, works on web and mobile, and is meant to complement the care teams and support organizations families already rely on. It is available today at emberhealth.ai and through partnerships with brain tumor nonprofits including Stand Up To Cancer and StacheStrong.

"This is the tool I wish my family had. For too long, the hardest parts of cancer have gone unsupported and unseen. Ember changes that by meeting families in their most difficult moments and making sure they're never alone in them. This mission is personal, and it drives everything we build."

— Jason Binder, founder and CEO of Ember

Brain Tumor Awareness Month recognizes the more than 1.3 million Americans living with a brain tumor diagnosis, both malignant and benign, and the families supporting them. Brain tumor care is among the most complex in oncology, and much of what a diagnosis asks of a family happens outside the clinic.

"AI is finally good enough to help with the human side of a diagnosis, not just the clinical side. That's the part that has gone unsupported for a long time, and it's the part we've built for. We're proud of the team we're building around this, and of what we think is possible for families in the years ahead."
